What Is LaserJet4V-MIB?

This HP proprietary MIB covers the HP LaserJet 4V, an early-generation HP business laser printer supporting large-format (tabloid/A3) media. It exposes control panel, power management, localization, error-state, and NVRAM-reset objects specific to this printer model. It is used to monitor hardware/firmware status such as sleep-mode/energy-star power state, not-ready-printer/not-ready-controller/not-idle fault flags, online/offline status, and user-nvram-reset events, giving insight into whether the printer is faulted, busy, or has had its configuration reset. It works within HP's standard Printer MIB (RFC 3805) and proprietary PML-based management framework common to the LaserJet MIB family. It is deployed in office environments running HP LaserJet 4V printers managed via SNMP-based print monitoring tools.
