Description: Verilink IPAD NAT MIB providing SNMP objects for network address translation configuration and session table monitoring.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is IPAD-NAT-MIB?
IPAD-NAT-MIB is a Verilink IPAD-series access device MIB covering Network Address Translation (NAT) configuration and runtime session behavior. It defines objects controlling NAT mode, global address/mask assignment, ICMP handling, and connection-state timers, alongside static and port-based translation parameters. For monitoring purposes it primarily exposes configuration/operational-state data such as whether NAT is enabled, the current NAT mode, and the various TCP/UDP/ICMP session timeout values that govern how long translated sessions are held in the device's NAT table, which is useful for diagnosing session exhaustion or premature connection drops. It is a self-contained vendor (Verilink/IPAD) MIB with no notable dependency on external standard MIBs beyond core SNMP conventions. It is typically deployed on Verilink IPAD routers/access devices used at branch-office or WAN-edge locations performing NAT for LAN-to-WAN connectivity. Engineers can download the IPAD-NAT-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IPAD-NAT-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Verilink IPAD router/access device
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks ipadNatEnable and ipadNatMode to confirm NAT is active and in the expected mode, then reviews ipadNatGlobalAddress/ipadNatGlobalMask to verify the translated public address range in use. If users report TCP sessions dropping under load, the admin inspects ipadNatTCPConnectionTimer, ipadNatTCPClosingTimer, and ipadNatTCPDisconnectedTimer to see if timeout values are too aggressive, and reviews ipadNatIPEntryTimer/ipadNatUDPTimer for signs the NAT table is aging entries out faster than expected.
What Can Be Monitored
- NAT enable status
- NAT operating mode
- NAT global address/mask
- TCP/UDP/ICMP session timers
- static NAT translation entries
- port-based NAT parameters
