Description: Verilink IPAD bridge MIB providing SNMP objects for Layer 2 bridging configuration and spanning tree on IPAD devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is IPAD-BRIDGE-MIB?
IPAD-BRIDGE-MIB is a Verilink enterprise MIB for the IPAD family of access devices, providing SNMP objects for Layer 2 transparent bridging configuration including spanning-tree-related port options. It exposes a bridge management MAC address, a bridge enable/disable flag, and a bridge port table (ipadBridgePortTable) with per-port settings such as endpoint role, BPDU handling option, multicast/broadcast destination address filtering, and whether only IP frames are forwarded. This MIB is primarily configuration-status oriented: it lets an administrator confirm bridging is enabled, inspect per-port bridging parameters, and verify BPDU/multicast forwarding behavior rather than exposing performance counters or environmental sensors. It appears to be a self-contained Verilink private MIB with no explicit dependency on the standard BRIDGE-MIB, though its port table plays an analogous role. It is deployed on Verilink IPAD access/bridging devices used in legacy WAN/LAN bridging deployments. Engineers can download the IPAD-BRIDGE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in IPAD-BRIDGE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Verilink IPAD access/bridging device
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would enumerate ipadBridgePortTable entries (indexed by ipadBridgePortIndex) to check each port's ipadBridgePortEndpoint role and ipadBridgePortBPDUOption setting, confirming spanning-tree BPDU handling matches the intended topology. ipadBridgePortForwardIpFramesOnly being enabled on an unexpected port could explain non-IP traffic silently being dropped, while ipadBridgeEnable being off would explain a complete loss of bridged connectivity across the device.
What Can Be Monitored
- bridge enable/disable state
- bridge management MAC address
- per-port endpoint role
- per-port BPDU handling option
- per-port multicast/broadcast destination filtering
- IP-frames-only forwarding setting per port
