Description: InnoVX MIB for monitoring and configuring data terminal equipment (DTE) interfaces in WAN access devices.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is INNOVX-DTE-MIB?
INNOVX-DTE-MIB is a vendor MIB from InnoVX for managing Data Terminal Equipment (DTE) serial interfaces on WAN access devices such as modems or CSU/DSU-style units. It exposes interface type and timing configuration, carrier and control-signal status (RxCarrier, DsrControl), loopback test configuration, diagnostic test status/duration, and port/LED status. It is explicitly used to monitor the physical hardware status of serial WAN links: carrier detect state, DTR loss alarm severity, port LED indicators, and diagnostic self-test results all serve as fault indicators for a serial connection. It likely complements standard RS-232/V.35 DTE/DCE conventions and the device's ifIndex-based interface numbering, though it is not tied to a specific IETF standard MIB. It is deployed on InnoVX WAN access equipment where INNOVX-DTE-MIB SNMP monitoring gives administrators visibility into serial line signaling and diagnostic health.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in INNOVX-DTE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- InnoVX WAN access devices
- serial DTE/modem equipment
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll dteRxCarrier and dtePortStatus for a given serial interface to detect loss of the carrier signal on a WAN link, and watch for a dteDtrLossTrapSeverity trap indicating the DTR control signal has dropped, often signaling a disconnected cable or failed remote device. dteDiagTestStatus and dteDiagTestDuration would be checked after initiating a dteLoopback test to confirm the interface passed self-diagnostics. dteLedStatus provides a quick hardware-indicator cross-check against the reported port status.
What Can Be Monitored
- carrier detect status
- DSR control state
- DTR loss alarm severity
- loopback test mode/status
- diagnostic test status and duration
- port and LED status
