Description: Manages Redundant Device Detection and Control (RDDC) for chassis high-availability on HP/Comware platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-RDDC-MIB?

HPN-ICF-RDDC-MIB is an HP Networking (H3C-derived ICF platform) proprietary MIB managing RDDC (Redundancy Group) failover, which minimizes data/control-plane disruption when one IRF group-node fails over to another. Its group table, keyed by index, records group name, preemption/hold-time remaining and configured values, while a node table records node ID, bind type/info, priority, weight, and status, alongside switch-reason, switchover, fail-interface-recover, and fail-interface-generate notifications. As a status/notification MIB it lets an administrator confirm redundancy-group node priority and get alerted on failover events on an HP Networking IRF system. It is deployed on HP Networking (H3C-derived) IRF stacking equipment (redundancy groups). Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-RDDC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-RDDC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HP Networking (H3C-derived) IRF stacking equipment (redundancy groups)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator receives hpnicfRddcSwitchoverTrap and checks hpnicfRddcSwitchReason to understand why an IRF redundancy-group failover occurred on an HP Networking system.

What Can Be Monitored

  • redundancy-group node priority and failover events
