Description: Huawei L2VPN pseudowire APS MIB for managing automatic protection switching for pseudowire services to provide 1+1 or 1:1 PW redundancy.

What Is HUAWEI-L2VPN-PW-APS-MIB?
HUAWEI-L2VPN-PW-APS-MIB is a Huawei enterprise MIB for managing Automatic Protection Switching (APS) of pseudowires within Layer-2 VPN services, providing 1+1 or 1:1 redundancy between a working and protection pseudowire. It exposes configuration objects for defining APS groups and their working/protection PW pairs, along with operational status showing which pseudowire is currently active and whether a protection switchover has occurred. Its role in device monitoring is chiefly fault and redundancy-status tracking: an operator watches for unexpected switchover events, which indicate the working pseudowire has failed or degraded, and confirms the protection PW remains available as a standby path. It builds on top of Huawei's core L2VPN and pseudowire MIBs (and implicitly the underlying MPLS/PW status objects) since APS state is meaningful only in the context of the pseudowires it protects. It is deployed in carrier and enterprise networks running Huawei routers where L2VPN pseudowire services carry latency-sensitive or high-availability traffic that requires automatic failover. Engineers can download the HUAWEI-L2VPN-PW-APS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HUAWEI-L2VPN-PW-APS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Huawei router/PE device (L2VPN)
Monitoring Examples
No sample objects were provided for this module, so specific table or object names cannot be cited with confidence; typically such an APS MIB would let an operator poll the APS group's active-PW indicator and switch-count to detect an unplanned failover from the working to the protection pseudowire, signaling a fault on the primary path.
