Description: The redundancy group should not switch back immediately when a failover is recovered. The preempt delay timer is started for waiting the failover became believable. This object contains the current preempt delay time remained when a failover is recovered.

What is hpnicfRddcPreempTimeRemain?

This read-only value, in minutes, reports how much longer the preempt delay timer has left to run after a failed component in this redundancy group has recovered, before the group is allowed to switch back. Admins check it to know how soon an automatic switchback will occur following a recovery, since the group deliberately waits to confirm the recovery is stable before reverting. For example, hpnicfRddcPreempTimeRemain reading 3 tells the admin this redundancy group will wait 3 more minutes before switching back to the recovered primary path.
