Description: Manages MPLS Traffic Engineering (TE) tunnel attributes, RSVP-TE signaling, and CSPF path computation on HP/Comware.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HPN-ICF-MPLSTE-MIB?

HPN-ICF-MPLSTE-MIB is an HPE/H3C Comware ICF private MIB for Multiprotocol Label Switching Traffic Engineering (MPLS-TE), covering TE tunnel status and RSVP-TE signaling capability on the device. It exposes global status scalars (hpnicfMplsTeStatus, hpnicfMplsTeRsvpStatus), a TE capability/row-status table (hpnicfMplsTeTable/Entry with hpnicfMplsTeCapability, RowStatus), and a parallel RSVP-specific table (hpnicfMplsTeRsvpTable/Entry with RsvpCapability, RsvpRowStatus). Its monitoring role is centered on control-plane/software status: confirming whether TE and RSVP-TE are enabled and correctly capable on the device, which underlies whether traffic-engineered LSPs can be signaled. A TE or RSVP status showing disabled or incapable where it should be active would explain a failure to establish an expected TE tunnel. It builds directly on the IETF MPLS-TE and RSVP-TE standards (RFC 3209 and related) and is deployed on HPE/H3C Comware core/edge routers in an MPLS traffic-engineered network. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-MPLSTE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-MPLSTE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • HPE/H3C Comware MPLS core/edge routers

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls hpnicfMplsTeStatus and hpnicfMplsTeRsvpStatus to confirm MPLS-TE and RSVP-TE signaling are enabled on a router, then checks hpnicfMplsTeTable and hpnicfMplsTeRsvpTable for Capability and RowStatus to verify the feature is correctly provisioned on relevant interfaces. If hpnicfMplsTeRsvpStatus shows disabled on a router that should be participating in a traffic-engineered LSP, that would explain why the expected TE tunnel fails to signal end-to-end.

What Can Be Monitored

  • MPLS-TE global enable status
  • RSVP-TE signaling status
  • TE capability and row status per entry
