Description: HH3C MIB for broadcast/multicast/unknown-unicast storm control configuration on H3C switch interfaces.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-STORM-CONSTRAIN-MIB?
HH3C-STORM-CONSTRAIN-MIB is an H3C enterprise MIB (under hh3cCommon) for configuring and monitoring broadcast/multicast/unknown-unicast storm control on H3C LAN switch ports. Its hh3cStormCtrlTable, indexed by ifIndex, holds per-traffic-type unit (Hh3cStormConstrainUnit: packets/sec, percent, bytes/sec, kbits/sec) and upper/lower flux thresholds, plus hh3cStormCtrlPortStatus (controlled vs. normal) reporting whether the port is currently blocking forwarding due to a storm, and hh3cStormCtrlPortMode (none/block/shutdown) for the enforcement action taken. Two scalars, hh3cStormTrapType and hh3cStormTrapThreshold, carry the traffic type and threshold value associated with hh3cStormRising and hh3cStormFalling, notifications fired when a monitored flux crosses its upper or falls back below its lower limit. This is a control-plane traffic-protection MIB, so monitoring it reveals which ports are currently storm-controlled and why, rather than raw packet counters, and it's deployed on H3C switches to protect against packet storms — administrators can download the HH3C-STORM-CONSTRAIN-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-STORM-CONSTRAIN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C LAN switches
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls hh3cStormCtrlPortStatus for each ifIndex in hh3cStormCtrlTable to find ports currently in controlled state, and correlates a received hh3cStormRising trap (with hh3cStormTrapType indicating broadcast) against hh3cStormCtrlBroadcastUpper to confirm the port's broadcast flux actually exceeded its configured threshold.
What Can Be Monitored
- per-port storm control thresholds (broadcast/multicast/unicast)
- storm control unit of measure
- port controlled/normal status
- storm control enforcement mode (block/shutdown)
- storm rising/falling notifications
- row lifecycle status
