Description: HH3C MIB for subnet-based VLAN assignment mapping IP subnets to VLANs on H3C switches.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is HH3C-SUBNET-VLAN-MIB?
HH3C-SUBNET-VLAN-MIB manages subnet-based VLAN assignment on H3C switches, a feature that maps traffic to a VLAN based on the source IP subnet rather than switch port. It exposes per-VLAN subnet binding tables, including subnet index, IP address/netmask values, and counts of subnets configured per VLAN and per port. Its monitoring focus is configuration correctness and capacity: tracking counts like hh3cSubnetNumPerVlan and hh3cSubnetNumPerPort against configured limits helps detect when a VLAN or port is approaching its subnet-mapping capacity, and verifying subnet-to-VLAN bindings match design prevents traffic misclassification. It extends the standard Q-BRIDGE-MIB VLAN model with an IP-subnet-based classification mechanism specific to H3C. It is deployed on H3C Layer 3 switches in networks that segment traffic by IP subnet rather than by physical port or 802.1Q tag alone. Engineers can download the HH3C-SUBNET-VLAN-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-SUBNET-VLAN-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- H3C Layer 3 switch
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll hh3cSubnetVlanTable entries for a given hh3cSubnetVlanVlanId to check the bound hh3cSubnetVlanIpAddressValue and hh3cSubnetVlanNetMaskValue, confirming a subnet is correctly mapped to its intended VLAN. Watching hh3cSubnetNumPerVlan or hh3cSubnetNumPerPort climb toward configured maximums (hh3cSubnetNumAllVlan/hh3cSubnetNumAllPort) would warn that a VLAN or port is nearing its subnet-binding capacity before new subnet mappings start failing.
What Can Be Monitored
- subnet-to-VLAN binding
- subnets configured per VLAN
- subnets configured per port
- subnet row status
