What Is HPN-ICF-E1T1VI-MIB?
HPN-ICF-E1T1VI-MIB is an HPE/H3C Comware ICF private MIB that supplements standard interface MIBs (RFC 1213, RFC 2233) with information specific to E1/T1 voice interface (VI) modules used on voice gateways and WAN routers. It exposes a table (hpnicfE1T1VITable/Entry) reporting timeslot utilization — hpnicfE1T1VIUsingTimeslots and the derived UsingTimeslotsRatio — plus a trap enable object and notification group for timeslot alerts. Its monitoring role centers on voice-trunk capacity: tracking how many E1/T1 timeslots are in use lets an operator detect when a voice trunk nears saturation, which would block new calls. hpnicfE1T1VITrapTimeSlotEnable and its notifications provide proactive alerting when usage crosses a concerning level. It builds on the base interface MIB framework and is deployed on HPE/H3C Comware voice gateways and WAN routers carrying TDM voice traffic. Engineers can download the HPN-ICF-E1T1VI-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HPN-ICF-E1T1VI-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HPE/H3C Comware voice gateways
- E1/T1 WAN routers
Monitoring Examples
An operator polls hpnicfE1T1VIUsingTimeslotsRatio per trunk in hpnicfE1T1VITable to see what percentage of E1/T1 timeslots are occupied by active calls, and enables hpnicfE1T1VITrapTimeSlotEnable so a notification fires when the ratio crosses a high-utilization threshold. A ratio consistently near 100% indicates the voice trunk is saturated and additional capacity is needed. The hpnicfE1T1VINotifications group with its TrapPrefix is the source of these capacity alerts.
What Can Be Monitored
- E1/T1 timeslot usage count
- E1/T1 timeslot utilization ratio
- timeslot-usage trap/alert status
