Description: Manages Edge Virtual Bridging (EVB) for server virtualization-aware switching on H3C datacenter switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-EVB-MIB?

HH3C-EVB-MIB is an H3C proprietary MIB (extending the standard IEEE8021-EVB-MIB) managing Ethernet Virtual Bridging (EVB), which lets a hypervisor's virtual switch delegate bridging to the adjacent physical switch via VEPA/multichannel technology. Its objects cover a set-result status, a default-manager table (manager index/type/ID/port, row status), a port-configuration table (reflective relay/RWD, keepalive/RKA settings), an S-channel-configuration table (channel ID, S-VLAN, MAC-learning status, row status), and a VSI (Virtual Station Interface) configuration table (SBP port number, local VSI ID, command). As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm S-channel VLAN mapping and VSI configuration for virtualized server connectivity. It is deployed on H3C switches supporting Ethernet Virtual Bridging. Engineers can download the HH3C-EVB-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-EVB-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C switches (Ethernet Virtual Bridging)

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks hh3cEvbSchannelSVLAN to confirm a virtual machine's S-channel is mapped to the correct backbone VLAN on an H3C EVB-enabled switch.

What Can Be Monitored

  • S-channel VLAN mapping and VSI configuration
