Description: Manages Ethernet Virtual Circuit (EVC) service instances and encapsulation policies on H3C provider switches.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is HH3C-EVC-MIB?

HH3C-EVC-MIB manages Ethernet Virtual Connection (EVC) service instances on H3C provider/carrier-Ethernet switches, covering how customer VLANs are mapped and encapsulated into service instances at the network edge. It exposes per-port maximum service-instance capacity, an encapsulation capabilities scalar, and a service-instance table describing each instance's ID, encapsulation type, S-VLAN ID range, and row status. Its monitoring value lies in configuration/service-provisioning correctness: an administrator can confirm a given EVC service instance is active (via row status) and correctly bound to its intended S-VLAN range and encapsulation, which is a software/configuration-status concern for carrier-Ethernet service delivery rather than physical hardware. It is an H3C-specific implementation of the general Metro Ethernet Forum EVC concept and does not appear to depend on a separate external standard MIB for its core objects. It is deployed on H3C carrier-Ethernet or provider-edge switches offering Ethernet Virtual Private Line/LAN services to business customers. Engineers can download the HH3C-EVC-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in HH3C-EVC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • H3C carrier/provider-Ethernet switches

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll hh3cEvcSrvInstTable, keyed by hh3cEvcSrvInstId, to check hh3cEvcSrvInstEncap and the hh3cEvcSrvInstSvlanIdListLow/High range against the intended customer service definition, and hh3cEvcSrvInstRowStatus to confirm the instance is active. Comparing hh3cEvcPortMaxSrvInstNum against the number of provisioned instances on a port would show how much service-instance capacity remains on that port. A service instance whose hh3cEvcSrvInstRowStatus is not active, or whose S-VLAN range doesn't match provisioning records, would indicate a misconfigured or failed EVC turn-up.

What Can Be Monitored

  • service instance encapsulation type
  • S-VLAN ID range per service instance
  • service instance row/active status
  • maximum service instances per port
