Description: General DataComm SC553 shelf controller MIB for chassis management and card slot status monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is GDC-SC553-MIB?

GDC-SC553-MIB is a General DataComm proprietary MIB (built on the shared GDCCMN-MIB/GDCMACRO-MIB framework) for the SC553 channel-service unit, reporting firmware version and DS0 channel configuration. Its version table reports active/stored firmware revision, boot revision, and stored-firmware status with a switch-active-firmware action and downloading-mode indicator, while a channel-configuration table records DS0 allocation scheme, base rate, starting DS0 and DS0 count, in-band DCC mode, split timing, channel type, admin/operational clock inversion, data inversion, and local DCD/DSR signal state. As a hardware/software-status MIB it lets an administrator confirm firmware revision and audit a channel's DS0 allocation and clocking settings. It is deployed on General DataComm SC553 channel-service equipment. Engineers can download the GDC-SC553-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GDC-SC553-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • General DataComm SC553 channel-service equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator checks sc553ChannelStartingDS0 and sc553ChannelNumberOfDS0s to confirm a channel's DS0 timeslot allocation matches the intended circuit provisioning on a GDC SC553 unit.

What Can Be Monitored
