Category: ATM, DSL and Broadband, Standard: IETF

Description: IETF MIB for ATM-based G.Bond inverse multiplexing over multiple DSL lines for bonded broadband access.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is GBOND-ATM-MIB?

GBOND-ATM-MIB is the standard IETF ADSL MIB Working Group MIB (based on ITU-T G.998.1, G.Bond/ATM) managing multi-pair bonded xDSL interfaces using ATM inverse multiplexing, used alongside the common GBOND-MIB base shared by all G.Bond technologies. Its port-configuration table, keyed by interface, records upstream/downstream max data rate and differential-delay tolerance, while a port-status table records show-time and upstream/downstream received-cell-loss counts. As a configuration/performance MIB it lets an administrator confirm bonded-pair data rate and watch cell-loss counts across a G.Bond/ATM bonded xDSL group. It is deployed on network equipment implementing ITU-T G.998.1 G.Bond/ATM bonded xDSL. Engineers implementing or auditing this functionality typically reference the GBOND-ATM-MIB RFC/standard documentation for the authoritative specification.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in GBOND-ATM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Network equipment implementing ITU-T G.998.1 G.Bond/ATM

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors gBondAtmUpRxCellLossCount and gBondAtmDownRxCellLossCount to catch degrading pairs within a G.Bond/ATM bonded xDSL group.

What Can Be Monitored

  • bonded xDSL data rate and cell-loss counts
