What Is CISCO-WAN-BBIF-ATM-CONN-MIB?

CISCO-WAN-BBIF-ATM-CONN-MIB is a Cisco-proprietary MIB for configuring ATM connections on the broadband interface (BBIF) of PXM1 service modules within Cisco's MGX WAN switching product line. It primarily exposes connection-configuration data, channel definitions, connection types, service types, and VPI/VCI addressing for ATM circuits carried over a broadband physical interface, rather than pure performance counters. From a monitoring perspective it lets an operator confirm the provisioning state and row status of each ATM channel, check assigned VPI/VCI values and service/connection type to validate circuit health, and detect misconfigured or inactive channels that would prevent traffic from passing, an indirect but useful signal of hardware/software connection status on the module. It is tightly coupled to Cisco's MGX chassis architecture and PXM1 service module firmware, with no meaningful standalone use outside that product family. It is deployed on Cisco MGX 8000-series multiservice WAN switches provisioning ATM connections over broadband trunk interfaces. An administrator would walk bbChanCnfGrpTable/bbChanCnfGrpEntry to list each configured channel by bbChanCnfNum, checking bbChanRowStatus to confirm the entry is active and bbChanVpi/bbChanVci to verify correct ATM addressing for a circuit. A channel showing bbChanConnType or bbChanServiceType mismatched from its intended service, or a row stuck in a non-active bbChanRowStatus, signals a provisioning fault on that broadband interface. bbChanIfNum ties each channel back to its physical broadband interface for correlation with interface-level fault data.
