What Is FOUNDRY-SN-SWITCH-GROUP-MIB?
FOUNDRY-SN-SWITCH-GROUP-MIB is a Brocade/Foundry proprietary MIB for managing switch-group-level Layer 2/3 features on Foundry (later Brocade) Ethernet switches, covering VLAN configuration, MAC address (forwarding database) tables, spanning tree port state, and switch-wide operating modes. Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks snSwGroupOperMode and snSwGroupIpL3SwMode to confirm whether the switch group is running in the expected Layer 2 or Layer 3 switching mode after a configuration change. Polling snFdbTableCurEntry reveals current MAC address table entries, and an unexpectedly rapid churn combined with snSwGroupSwitchAgeTime settings can indicate a topology loop; issuing snFdbTableStationFlush clears stale entries. snPortStpSetAll and snVLanGroupVlanCurEntry are polled together to verify a given port's spanning-tree state matches its intended VLAN membership.
