Description: F3-FPM-MIB module

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is F3-FPM-MIB?

F3-FPM-MIB defines the Flow Point Model used by ADVA Optical Networking's FSP150CM/CC carrier Ethernet product line, modeling access and network flow points that anchor Ethernet services to physical or logical interfaces. It exposes configuration data such as VLAN membership, CoS marking, and shaping parameters, alongside operational data describing each flow point's health. For monitoring, the key value is state visibility: f3AccFlowPointAdminState, f3AccFlowPointOperationalState, and f3AccFlowPointSecondaryState let an operator determine whether a service flow point is administratively enabled and actually passing traffic, effectively a software/service-status indicator rather than a chassis-hardware one. It ties into the broader F3 platform object model, referencing associated flow IDs shared with other F3 MIBs like Connect Guard and SHG. It is used in carrier and enterprise deployments running ADVA FSP150 devices to deliver and troubleshoot point-to-point and multipoint Ethernet access services. Engineers can download the F3-FPM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in F3-FPM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADVA FSP150CM/CC carrier Ethernet access/aggregation device

Monitoring Examples

An NMS would poll f3AccFlowPointTable/f3AccFlowPointEntry indexed by f3AccFlowPointIndex, checking f3AccFlowPointOperationalState against f3AccFlowPointAdminState to detect a flow point that is enabled but down, and cross-referencing f3AccFlowPointAssociatedFlowId to correlate with performance data in other tables. f3AccFlowPointIngressVlanMemberList and f3AccFlowPointIngressCOS reveal the configured VLAN and CoS classification, useful when diagnosing why traffic on a given service isn't matching expected QoS treatment. f3AccFlowPointEgressShapingType indicates whether egress shaping is applied, relevant when troubleshooting throughput complaints.

What Can Be Monitored

  • flow point admin state
  • flow point operational state
  • flow point secondary state
  • VLAN membership per flow point
  • ingress CoS marking
  • egress shaping configuration
