F3-BRIDGE-MIB is an ADVA Optical Networking MIB that defines Ethernet bridging and MAC-address-learning management for the FSP150CM/CC family of carrier Ethernet demarcation devices. It exposes configuration for MAC/flow learning behavior on access and network interfaces (per-interface learning control, maximum forwarding-table entries, aging timers, and behavior when the table fills), a static forwarding-entry table, and general bridge statistics objects. Its primary monitoring value is on the software/configuration-state side: whether MAC learning is enabled or disabled per interface, how close the forwarding table is to its configured maximum size, and what action the device takes (e.g., discard or flood) when the table is full — all indicators of potential Ethernet loop, MAC-flooding, or table-exhaustion problems. As a bridging MIB for a carrier Ethernet product it works alongside ADVA's other F3 MIBs (such as CFM and EoTDM) and standards like the IEEE 802.1D/802.1Q bridge model it is patterned after. The F3-BRIDGE-MIB MIB is deployed on FSP150 access/aggregation nodes used to deliver carrier Ethernet services at the network edge.

An operator would poll f3FlowLearningConfigAccMaxFwdEntries and f3FlowLearningConfigNetMaxFwdEntries alongside the current learned-entry count to see how close the access- and network-side forwarding tables are to capacity, and check f3FlowLearningConfigTableFullAction to know whether the device will start dropping new MACs or flooding traffic once full. Monitoring f3FlowLearningConfigAgingTimer and per-interface learning control objects (f3FlowLearningConfigAccIfLearningCtrl / f3FlowLearningConfigNetIfLearningCtrl) helps confirm learning is enabled where expected, while the f3FlowStaticFwdEntTable can be checked to verify statically-provisioned forwarding entries remain correct. A rapidly growing entry count combined with a 'discard' full-action would signal a MAC flooding event or Ethernet loop needing investigation.
