Description: ADVA Optical Networking F3 platform MIB for Ethernet over MPLS (EoMPLS) pseudowire configuration and monitoring.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is F3-EOMPLS-MIB?

F3-EOMPLS-MIB is an ADVA Optical Networking vendor MIB (module identity under fsp150cm) that manages Ethernet-over-MPLS (EoMPLS) pseudowires on the F3 FSP150CM/CC Carrier Ethernet access/aggregation product line. Its central f3EoMplsPwTable, indexed by neIndex and f3EoMplsPwIndex, configures per-pseudowire mode (raw/tagged), transmit/receive tunnel and VC MPLS labels with EXP and TTL values, outer S-tag VLAN ID/priority, discovery type (static/dynamic), destination IP/MAC, admin/operational/secondary state, and row status, while extension tables augment cmEthernetNetPortEntry and cmPrioMapV2PrioMappingCOSEntry to add a pseudowire source IP and CoS-to-MPLS-EXP mappings. Performance tables (f3EoMplsPwStatsTable and f3EoMplsPwHistoryTable) track a TTL-equal-zero drop counter across 5-minute, 15-minute, daily, and rollover intervals, and a threshold table drives an f3EoMplsPwThresholdCrossingAlert notification when a monitored PM value crosses a configured bound. It depends on the CM-COMMON-MIB and CM-FACILITY-MIB for state/type definitions and on CM-ENTITY-MIB for network-element indexing, and administrators can download the F3-EOMPLS-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in F3-EOMPLS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • ADVA FSP150CM/CC (F3) Carrier Ethernet access/aggregation platforms

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls f3EoMplsPwOperationalState per f3EoMplsPwIndex to confirm a pseudowire is up, and watches f3EoMplsPwStatsTtlEqual0Drop for a rising count — a spike there indicates MPLS TTL-expiry drops consistent with a routing loop or excessive hop count in the MPLS core.

What Can Be Monitored

  • EoMPLS pseudowire label/tunnel configuration
  • pseudowire admin/operational/secondary state
  • TTL-expiry drop counters (current & history)
  • PM threshold-crossing alerts
  • outer S-tag VLAN/priority mapping
  • CoS-to-MPLS-EXP priority mapping
