Description: EnGenius private MIB providing proprietary management objects for configuring EnGenius wireless access points and routers.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is ENGENIUS-PRIVATE-MIB?

ENGENIUS-PRIVATE-MIB is a proprietary MIB from EnGenius (originally developed under the Senao brand) that supplements the standard IEEE 802.11 MIB with vendor-specific management objects for EnGenius wireless access points and routers. It exposes system identity/configuration data, WAN connection settings, and wireless-specific status such as client association state. For monitoring purposes it surfaces both configuration (systemName, wanIPAddress, wanConnectionType, wanGeneralAccount) and live operational/fault indicators such as statusWLANSTAAssoc (wireless station association status) and errMsg, which functions as a device error/fault indicator akin to a basic software health flag. It explicitly depends on and supplements the standard IEEE 802.11 MIB, adding vendor-specific detail the standard MIB does not cover. It is deployed on EnGenius/Senao 802.11 wireless access points and routers used in SOHO and enterprise Wi-Fi deployments. Engineers can download the ENGENIUS-PRIVATE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ENGENIUS-PRIVATE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • EnGenius (Senao) 802.11 wireless access point or router

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll errMsg to detect an internal fault condition being reported by the device, and check statusWLANSTAAssoc to see whether wireless clients are currently associated to the radio, useful for diagnosing a Wi-Fi outage. wanIPAddress, wanSubnetMask, and wanConnectionType let an operator confirm the WAN uplink configuration matches expectations after a provisioning change, while modelName and wirelessMacAddress identify the specific hardware unit being polled. This MIB blends device identity, WAN configuration, and basic wireless fault/status monitoring.

What Can Be Monitored

  • wireless station association status
  • device error message/fault flag
  • WAN IP address and connection type
  • WAN account/domain configuration
  • device model and MAC address
