Description: Eicon Technology card MIB for monitoring Eicon WAN adapter cards including hardware status and configuration.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EICON-MIB-CARD?

EICON-MIB-CARD is a vendor-specific MIB from Eicon Technology for managing physical WAN adapter cards (ISDN/WAN interface boards) installed in Eicon communications servers. It exposes a card inventory table describing each installed card's identity, type, and configuration domain, plus operational and administrative state objects. Its primary monitoring use is hardware status: cardOperState and cardActionState reveal whether a WAN card is up, down, or in a fault/loading condition, cardLoadTime shows how long firmware download onto the card took, and cardActionError surfaces card-level fault codes. It is a self-contained proprietary Eicon MIB with no stated dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMP conventions. It is deployed on Eicon WAN gateway/remote access servers used for ISDN, frame relay, or leased-line connectivity in telecom and enterprise remote-access settings. Engineers can download the EICON-MIB-CARD file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EICON-MIB-CARD. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Eicon Technology WAN adapter cards
  • Eicon ISDN/WAN communications servers

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls cardTable/cardEntry indexed by cardIndex to check cardName, cardType and cardOperState for every installed adapter, flagging any card whose cardOperState is not operational. cardActionState and cardActionError are watched together to catch a card stuck mid-firmware-load or reporting a hardware fault, while cardLoadTime helps diagnose unusually slow firmware downloads. cardDomainConfigDirName indicates which configuration profile is bound to a card, useful for confirming the right config was applied after a card swap.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-card operational state
  • card action/load state and errors
  • installed card type and hardware name
  • firmware load time
  • card configuration domain binding
