Description: Eicon Technology server MIB for monitoring and managing Eicon communications server resources and active sessions.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is EICON-MIB-SERVER?

EICON-MIB-SERVER is an Eicon Technology (communications hardware vendor) MIB for monitoring and managing an Eicon communications server's underlying platform resources and active sessions. It exposes hardware and OS inventory objects covering the server's bus type, CPU type and speed, standard/extended/expanded memory sizes, and the operating system/network operating system name and version. This is directly a hardware and software status MIB: CPU type/speed and memory sizing indicate the platform's capacity, while OS/NOS name and version fields let an admin confirm software compatibility, and srvAdminStateCtr tracks the server's administrative state. It is a self-contained vendor MIB without strong dependency on other standard MIBs beyond basic SNMPv2 SMI conventions. It is deployed in legacy Eicon communications server installations providing WAN/ISDN connectivity services to LAN clients, and administrators can download the EICON-MIB-SERVER file to load it into their management console.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in EICON-MIB-SERVER. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Eicon Technology communications servers

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll srvCpuType and srvCpuSpeed alongside srvStdMemory, srvExtendMemory, and srvExpandedMemory to confirm the server's hardware capacity matches expectations before deploying additional communication sessions. Checking srvOsName/srvOsVersion and srvNosName/srvNosVersion would verify the installed OS and network OS versions are within supported combinations for the Eicon server software. A change in srvAdminStateCtr could indicate the server was administratively disabled, explaining a loss of communications service.
