Description: Governs ACL rules used to filter subscriber traffic on Askey DSLAM equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is ASKEY-DSLAM-ACL-MIB?
ASKEY-DSLAM-ACL-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Askey Computer Corporation for its DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) broadband access platforms. It defines the access control list (ACL) configuration objects used to filter subscriber traffic on DSL lines, keyed by ATM VPI/VCI identifiers and MAC addresses. In monitoring/management terms it is primarily a configuration-status MIB: an operator uses it to verify which ACL rules (permit/deny actions) are active on which subscriber circuit, rather than to track hardware faults, though misconfigured or missing ACL entries can indicate a provisioning fault affecting subscriber connectivity. It is a standalone vendor MIB with no strong dependency on IETF standards beyond conventional SNMPv2-SMI table conventions. It is deployed on Askey DSLAM chassis used by telecom/broadband operators to aggregate and manage large numbers of residential and business DSL subscriber lines. Engineers can download the ASKEY-DSLAM-ACL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ASKEY-DSLAM-ACL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Askey DSLAM (broadband access aggregation chassis)
Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll the askeyAclTable/askeyAclEntry rows, cross-referencing aclVpi and aclVci (the ATM virtual path/channel identifying the subscriber's DSL circuit) against aclMac and aclAct to confirm that a specific subscriber's traffic is being permitted or denied as intended. Discovering an aclAct value of "deny" on a circuit that should be active would reveal an ACL misconfiguration blocking a legitimate subscriber.
What Can Be Monitored
- ACL rule entries per subscriber circuit
- VPI/VCI identifiers
- subscriber MAC address bindings
- ACL permit/deny action
