What Is E7-TC?
E7-TC is a Textual Conventions MIB defining common data types shared across the SNMP management MIBs for the Calix E7 platform, a modular access/aggregation system used by service providers for broadband (GPON/Ethernet) delivery. As a TC-only module, it defines no runtime scalars or tables itself; instead it standardizes types (such as status enumerations or identifiers) that other E7 MIBs reuse for consistency. It therefore has no direct monitoring role for hardware or software status on its own -- actual interface, card, and service monitoring on the E7 platform happens in the companion E7 MIB modules that import these conventions. Its dependency relationship is explicit and foundational: multiple E7 platform MIBs likely rely on the types defined here for consistent representation of status and identifiers. The E7-TC MIB is relevant wherever Calix E7 access/aggregation platforms are deployed and managed via SNMP by broadband service providers.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in E7-TC. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Calix AXOS E7-2 (2025) — modular Ethernet Service Access Platform, deployed by 100+ communications service providers
Monitoring Examples
This module defines no data-carrying objects to poll; it is purely a support module of shared type definitions for other Calix E7 MIBs. Real-time monitoring of E7 chassis, card, or port status would be performed against those companion E7 MIB modules, which import the textual conventions declared here.
