Category: IP and Core Protocols, Routing Protocols

Description: Manages routing table configuration and IP forwarding parameters for network devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DEVROUTE-MIB?

DEVROUTE-MIB is an Aperto Networks proprietary MIB for viewing and configuring IP routes on Aperto fixed-wireless broadband equipment, functioning similarly to the standard RFC 1213 ipRouteTable but indexed on the combination of destination, next hop, and mask rather than destination alone (allowing multiple routes to the same destination). Its route table exposes destination, interface index, up to four route metrics, next hop, and route type. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator audit the device's IP routing table, including multiple routes to the same destination that a standard single-key table couldn't represent. It is deployed on Aperto Networks fixed-wireless broadband access equipment. Engineers can download the DEVROUTE-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DEVROUTE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aperto Networks fixed-wireless broadband access equipment

Monitoring Examples

An administrator walks aniDevRouteTable to confirm multiple routes to the same destination (differing by next hop) are both present and correctly metric-ranked, something the standard single-keyed ipRouteTable can't represent.

What Can Be Monitored

  • IP route table entries (destination/next-hop/mask keyed)
