aniDevRouteType

Module: DEVROUTE-MIB

OID (symbolic): DEVROUTE-MIB::aniDevRouteType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4325.2.9.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-create

Description: The type of route.

Currently, aniDevRouteType cannot be set to anything other than invalid(2). Setting this object to the value invalid(2) has the effect of deleting/invalidating the corresponding entry in the aniDevRouteTable object. That is, it effectively dissasociates the destination identified with said entry from the route identified with said entry.

What is aniDevRouteType?

This object classifies the route as other, invalid, a directly connected network, or an indirect route requiring a next-hop gateway. Admins use it to distinguish local, directly attached routes from those learned or configured toward remote networks, and setting it to invalid(2) is the documented mechanism for deleting a route entry from the table. For example, an admin who wants to remove a stale static route would set its aniDevRouteType to invalid(2) to disassociate that destination from the table.
