Description: Manages Ethernet I/O module interface parameters and statistics on CX Memotec devices.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CXEthIo-MIB?

CXEthIo-MIB is a vendor-specific Aastra/Memotec (CX) MIB that manages the Ethernet I/O module found on CX-series WAN access devices, covering Ethernet interface configuration and traffic statistics. It exposes both administrative (planned) and operational port tables plus error counters, giving visibility into the physical/data-link health of the Ethernet interface. For hardware and software status monitoring, the key use is watching input error counters (like ethStatOprInErrors) to detect cabling, duplex-mismatch, or NIC hardware problems, and comparing admin vs operational tables to catch configuration drift on the module. It is a companion to the WAN-side protocol MIBs on the same chassis (e.g., CXMLPPP-MIB, CXLapBD-MIB) that carry traffic onward from the Ethernet-facing side. It is typically deployed in Aastra CX access multiplexers/routers bridging LAN Ethernet to WAN circuits at enterprise or telco sites. Engineers can download the CXEthIo-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CXEthIo-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Aastra ConvertedX (CX) WAN access device
  • Aastra Ethernet I/O module

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll ethSapOprTable to see the live operational state of each Ethernet port and cross-check it against ethSapAdmTable to confirm the port has come up with the intended settings after a configuration change. ethStatOprInErrors would be watched over time; a rising counter typically points to a bad cable, a duplex/speed mismatch, or a failing Ethernet PHY on the module. Because the object set is compact, this MIB is best used as a quick health check rather than a full RMON-style statistics feed.

What Can Be Monitored

  • Ethernet port operational status
  • Ethernet port administrative configuration
  • Ethernet input error count
