Category: Fibre Channel and Storage, Vendor: HP/HPE
Description: Manages Compaq/HP Intelligent Cluster Administrator objects for ProLiant cluster configuration.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CPQICA-MIB?
CPQICA-MIB is a vendor-specific SNMP module from Compaq/HP for the Intelligent Cluster Administrator, a management tool for configuring and monitoring server clusters built from HP ProLiant servers. It exposes objects related to cluster configuration, node membership, and administration of the cluster from a centralized management perspective. Its monitoring value centers on the software/service status of the clustering layer: administrators use it to verify cluster configuration state and node status, helping detect misconfigured or unreachable cluster nodes that could affect application availability. As a cluster-management MIB it depends on and complements per-server ProLiant management MIBs (such as CPQSTDEQ-MIB and CPQSRVMN-MIB) for full visibility into the underlying hardware of each cluster node. It is typically deployed in enterprise environments running HP ProLiant server clusters for high-availability applications. Engineers can download the CPQICA-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CPQICA-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- HP ProLiant server cluster (Intelligent Cluster Administrator)
Monitoring Examples
No sample runtime objects were supplied for this module, so specific object names cannot be grounded here; in practice an administrator would expect to poll cluster configuration and node-status objects to detect a node that has dropped out of the cluster or a configuration mismatch that could jeopardize failover behavior.
