What Is CISCO-WAN-SRM-MIB?

CISCO-WAN-SRM-MIB is a Cisco-proprietary MIB for configuring the Service Resource Module (SRM) and its enhanced variant (SRME) on Cisco MGX 8200-series WAN switches, used for bulk de-multiplexing of high-speed T3/SONET interfaces down to lower-speed T1 or VT interfaces feeding modules like AUSM, FRSM, and CESM. It exposes configuration tables mapping T3 lines and SONET VT circuits to target T1 module slots and line numbers, along with row-status objects controlling activation of each mapping. Its monitoring value lies in confirming bulk-distribution mappings are correctly provisioned and active; checking row status confirms whether a T3-to-T1 or SONET-to-VT distribution path is up, essential to diagnosing why traffic isn't reaching a dependent T1 service module. It depends implicitly on the Cisco MGX chassis/slot model and on the T1 service modules it feeds, but is not tied to any IETF standard. It is deployed exclusively on Cisco MGX 82xx multiservice WAN switches configuring high-bandwidth-to-low-bandwidth interface fan-out. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-SRM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

Monitoring Examples

An operator would inspect srm3T3CnfGrpTable/srm3T3CnfGrpEntry, keyed by srmT3LineNum and srmStartT1LineNum, to confirm each T3 line is correctly distributed to the expected T1 module identified by srmTargetSlotNum/srmTargetSlotLineNum, with srmT1RowStatus showing an active state. Similarly, srmeCnfGrpTable entries keyed by srmeLineNum and srmeStartVtNum confirm SONET VT-to-T1 mappings on the enhanced SRME hardware. A row stuck in a non-active row status, or a target slot mismatch, would indicate a misconfigured or failed bulk-distribution path.
