Description: Manages Cisco WAN Frame Relay resource partition allocation for multi-controller environments.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-WAN-FR-RSRC-PART-MIB?
CISCO-WAN-FR-RSRC-PART-MIB manages resource partitioning on Frame Relay ports for Cisco WAN switching platforms, allowing logical connection numbers (LCNs) and DLCI (Data Link Connection Identifier) ranges to be allocated among multiple controllers sharing a physical Frame Relay port. It exposes a resource-partition-group table capturing, per port and controller, the number of available LCNs, the low/high DLCI range assigned, and ingress/egress bandwidth percentage allocations. This is primarily a configuration/capacity-monitoring MIB: administrators check available LCN counts to confirm sufficient connection capacity remains for a partition, and ingress/egress bandwidth percentages to verify allocation matches intended service-level agreements per controller. It works alongside the broader Cisco WAN Frame Relay connection/controller MIB family for full port and controller context. It is deployed on Cisco MGX WAN switch platforms running multi-controller Frame Relay port sharing. Engineers can download the CISCO-WAN-FR-RSRC-PART-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-WAN-FR-RSRC-PART-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco MGX WAN switch platform (Frame Relay resource partitioning)
Monitoring Examples
An engineer would poll frPortCnfResPartGrpTable/frPortCnfResPartGrpEntry keyed by frResPartPortNum and frResPartCtrlrNum, checking frResPartNumOfLcnAvail to see if a controller partition is running low on available logical connections before provisioning new PVCs. frResPartDlciLow/frResPartDlciHigh define the DLCI range reserved for that controller, useful when diagnosing a DLCI conflict between partitions. Comparing frResPartIngrPctBW and frResPartEgrPctBW against actual traffic load would reveal whether a partition's configured bandwidth share is being exceeded.
What Can Be Monitored
- available LCNs per resource partition
- DLCI range per partition
- ingress/egress bandwidth percentage allocation
- controller-to-port partition mapping
