Description: Manages Cisco Land Mobile Radio (LMR) voice gateway integration for radio-to-IP interoperability.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-VOICE-LMR-MIB?

CISCO-VOICE-LMR-MIB supports Cisco's Land Mobile Radio (LMR) gateway integration feature, which lets IP telephony/voice gateways interoperate with two-way radio systems by injecting configurable static tones -- wake-up, guard/idle, and pause tones -- before and during voice playout to keep the radio channel active and correctly selected. It exposes configuration objects defining tone classes, digital filter settings, guard tone frequency/amplitude, and idle-tone behavior, along with per-class signal tone sequence tables. This MIB is almost entirely configuration-oriented rather than exposing hardware/performance counters, so its monitoring value is limited to verifying tone-class settings are correctly provisioned for a given radio interoperability deployment (e.g., confirming guard tone frequency matches what the radio system expects). It depends on the voice gateway's underlying dial-peer/voice-port configuration framework on which LMR tone classes are applied. It is deployed on Cisco voice gateways used to bridge IP/PSTN calls into Land Mobile Radio (public safety/two-way radio) systems. Network engineers evaluating or troubleshooting this functionality can download the CISCO-VOICE-LMR-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-VOICE-LMR-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco voice gateways with Land Mobile Radio (LMR) interoperability

Monitoring Examples

cvlClassTable/cvlClassEntry exposes cvlClassName alongside cvlGuardToneFreq and cvlGuardToneAmp, letting an admin verify the configured guard tone matches the frequency/amplitude expected by the connected radio system. cvlSignalToneTable/cvlSignalToneEntry defines the tone-and-pause sequence used to wake and select a radio channel, so an operator can confirm the sequence is correctly provisioned; this MIB is configuration-focused with essentially no runtime performance counters to monitor for anomalies.

What Can Be Monitored

  • guard/idle tone frequency and amplitude configuration
  • tone class definitions
  • digital filter settings
  • signal tone/pause sequence configuration
