Description: MIB for UUID pool management in Cisco UCS, tracking UUID address blocks and pool assignment order used for server service profile identity allocation

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-UUIDPOOL-MIB?

CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-UUIDPOOL-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS Manager MIB family and manages UUID address pools used to assign a unique system identifier to each UCS service profile, mirroring the pattern used by the WWN and IP pool MIBs. It exposes pool block definitions, individual UUID entries, and assignment tracking data showing which service profile (by DN) currently owns a given UUID. Its monitoring value is capacity and consistency tracking: comparing globally assigned versus globally defined counts reveals when a UUID pool is nearing exhaustion, which would block new service profile creation, and per-address assignment data lets an admin trace UUID-to-server mappings. It shares the common UCS Manager pool/DN addressing model with the FCPOOL, IPPOOL, and MAC pool MIBs. It is used in Cisco UCS-managed data centers to ensure every service profile gets a unique, trackable system UUID. Engineers can download the CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-UUIDPOOL-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-UNIFIED-COMPUTING-UUIDPOOL-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS Manager (blade and rack servers)

Monitoring Examples

cucsUuidpoolAddrTable/cucsUuidpoolAddrEntry exposes cucsUuidpoolAddrId, cucsUuidpoolAddrAssigned, and cucsUuidpoolAddrAssignedToDn so an admin can trace which service profile a given UUID belongs to. Comparing cucsUuidpoolAddrGlobalAssignedCnt to cucsUuidpoolAddrGlobalDefinedCnt reveals pool exhaustion risk before it blocks new profile creation, and cucsUuidpoolBlockTable confirms configured UUID ranges.

What Can Be Monitored

  • UUID pool assigned vs. defined counts
  • individual UUID assignment status
  • service profile-to-UUID ownership
  • pool block ranges
  • pool exhaustion risk
