What Is CISCO-RMON-CONFIG-MIB?

CISCO-RMON-CONFIG-MIB is a Cisco Systems, Inc. proprietary MIB extending the IETF RMON MIBs with SPAN (Switched Port Analyzer) and mirroring configuration. Its objects cover an RMON time-filter mode, a port-copy (SPAN source) table (low/high VLAN mask, destination low/high VLAN mask, option, session number/type, remove-source flag, reflector port, ingress-VLAN, max ingress/egress sessions), a CRC SPAN-session table (number, type, enabled flag, description), and an ERSPAN (Encapsulated Remote SPAN) session table. As a configuration MIB it lets an administrator confirm SPAN/ERSPAN session source/destination configuration on a Cisco switch. It is deployed on Cisco Systems switches (SPAN/ERSPAN traffic mirroring). Engineers can download the CISCO-RMON-CONFIG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

The following terms are used throughout this MIB: A SPAN session is an association of one or more destination(s) with a set of source(s), along with other parameters, to specify the network traffic to be monitored. Each SPAN session is denoted by an unique number.
