Description: Declares SNMP agent capabilities for the Cisco Call Home MIB.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-CALLHOME-CAPABILITY?

CISCO-CALLHOME-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES module describing which features and object groups of CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB a given Cisco device's SNMP agent supports. Like other capability statements it defines no manageable objects of its own and exposes no pollable data—it exists solely to document implementation conformance for network management systems and MIB compilers. It therefore plays no direct role in monitoring hardware or software status; monitoring of Call Home (Cisco's automated diagnostic-alerting feature) happens through the companion CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB, not this module. Its only relationship of note is a direct dependency on CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB, whose groups and objects it qualifies for a given agent version. It is consulted during MIB compilation and capability negotiation on Cisco devices that support the Call Home diagnostic/alerting feature, so MIB compiler tooling loads the CISCO-CALLHOME-CAPABILITY MIB primarily to confirm agent conformance for a given firmware release, rather than during live SNMP polling.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-CALLHOME-CAPABILITY. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco devices supporting the Call Home diagnostic/alerting feature

Monitoring Examples

This module defines no runtime objects or tables—it is a conformance/AGENT-CAPABILITIES statement describing which groups of CISCO-CALLHOME-MIB a given device's agent supports, so there is no monitoring scenario to describe against it directly.
