Description: Provides management objects for network connectivity configuration including VLANs, uplinks, and LAN connectivity on Cisco UCS/Firepower platforms.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-NETWORK-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-NETWORK-MIB is a Cisco module modeling network connectivity configuration for Cisco Firepower/UCS-based platforms, covering VLANs, uplink ports, and LAN connectivity as part of the Firepower chassis management information model. Its central table, cfprNetworkElementTable, represents managed network elements with identity fields (instance ID, distinguished name, relative name), administrative in-band interface state, and memory-consistency checks between expected and actual (diff) memory values. For monitoring, this MIB supports both configuration/software status (in-band management interface admin state) and a form of hardware-integrity check via cfprNetworkElementExpectedMemory versus cfprNetworkElementDiffMemory, where a nonzero difference can flag a memory-fault or inventory-mismatch condition, alongside fault-aggregation status via cfprNetworkElementFltAggr. It is part of the broader Cisco UCS/Firepower management information model family and depends on that platform's DN/RN naming and fault-aggregation conventions shared across other Firepower MIBs. It is deployed on Cisco Firepower next-generation firewall/UCS chassis platforms where administrators need centralized visibility into network element health and connectivity. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-NETWORK-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-NETWORK-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco Firepower/UCS chassis platform

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprNetworkElementAdminInbandIfState for entries in cfprNetworkElementTable to confirm the in-band management interface on a given network element (identified by cfprNetworkElementDn/cfprNetworkElementRn) is administratively enabled. Comparing cfprNetworkElementExpectedMemory to cfprNetworkElementDiffMemory can reveal a memory discrepancy suggesting a hardware fault or misconfiguration, while cfprNetworkElementFltAggr gives a rolled-up fault indicator and cfprNetworkElementInbandIfGw/cfprNetworkElementInbandIfIp confirm the configured in-band gateway and IP address for that element.

What Can Be Monitored

  • in-band interface admin state
  • expected vs. actual memory
  • aggregated fault status
  • in-band IP address and gateway
  • network element identity
