Description: Provides management objects for host OS image management and provisioning on Cisco UCS/Firepower compute nodes.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-HOSTIMG-MIB?
CISCO-FIREPOWER-HOSTIMG-MIB is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower chassis management information model, covering the HOSTIMG package that manages host operating system image policies for provisioning compute blades in the chassis. It exposes policy objects describing which OS distribution and configuration a host-image policy applies, along with descriptive metadata and policy hierarchy level. Its relevance to monitoring is chiefly around software/version status: administrators can inspect which OS image/distro a blade's host-image policy specifies, useful for auditing whether blades are provisioned with the expected or approved OS version. It shares the DN/RN-addressed object model common to the CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB family, tying host-image policies to specific chassis/blade instances. It is deployed on Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Firepower 9300 chassis performing OS provisioning of compute blades. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-HOSTIMG-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-HOSTIMG-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnect
- Cisco Firepower 9300 chassis blade
Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll cfprHostimgPolicyTable/cfprHostimgPolicyEntry, keyed by cfprHostimgPolicyInstanceId, checking cfprHostimgPolicyDistro and cfprHostimgPolicyComp/cfprHostimgPolicyConf to confirm which OS distribution and configuration a given policy (identified by cfprHostimgPolicyName) targets. cfprHostimgPolicyDescr and cfprHostimgPolicyPolicyLevel help an administrator understand the scope (global vs local) of the policy applied to a blade during provisioning. This is a configuration/inventory view rather than a live runtime counter.
What Can Be Monitored
- host image OS distribution
- host image policy name/description
- policy configuration level
- policy component/configuration references
