Category: Cisco Devices, Hardware and Environment, Quality of Service

Description: Provides management objects for endpoint quality-of-service policy configuration on Cisco UCS/Firepower platform vNICs and adapters.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-EPQOS-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-EPQOS-MIB is part of the Cisco UCS/Firepower model-based MIB family covering endpoint quality-of-service (QoS) policy definitions applied to virtual NICs and adapters. It exposes the QoS policy definitions themselves along with finite-state-machine (FSM) progress fields that track the provisioning of a QoS policy onto hardware, including any remote invocation errors encountered during that provisioning. This makes it useful for monitoring the software/configuration status of QoS rollout, specifically whether a QoS policy has been successfully applied to an adapter or is stuck/failed mid-provisioning. Like sibling Firepower MIBs, it follows the common Dn/Rn/InstanceId object model of Cisco's UCS Manager information model rather than depending on an external standard. It is deployed on Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects and adapter hardware where QoS policies are pushed to vNICs as part of service profile association. Engineers can download the CISCO-FIREPOWER-EPQOS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in CISCO-FIREPOWER-EPQOS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Cisco UCS/Firepower fabric interconnects and adapters

Monitoring Examples

Polling cfprEpqosDefinitionTable/cfprEpqosDefinitionEntry, an admin can check cfprEpqosDefinitionFsmProgr and cfprEpqosDefinitionFsmPrev to see whether a QoS policy push is progressing normally, and inspect cfprEpqosDefinitionFsmRmtInvErrCode/cfprEpqosDefinitionFsmRmtInvErrDescr to diagnose a failed remote invocation that left an adapter without the intended QoS treatment.

What Can Be Monitored

  • QoS policy provisioning progress (FSM state)
  • QoS provisioning error codes/descriptions
  • QoS definition description
  • policy rollout status per adapter
