What Is CISCO-FIREPOWER-DIAG-MIB?

CISCO-FIREPOWER-DIAG-MIB is part of Cisco's UCS/Firepower chassis management information model, covering the DIAG package that represents hardware diagnostic self-tests run against blades and network components in the chassis. It exposes test-definition tables describing each diagnostic test's type, length, and run order for both blade-level and network-level tests. This MIB is directly focused on hardware health/status monitoring: administrators use it to see which diagnostic self-tests are defined and, via associated status attributes, whether a blade or network component passed, failed, or is still running its power-on/on-demand diagnostics. It shares the common DN/RN object-addressing scheme used across the CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB family, tying diagnostic results to specific hardware instances. It is deployed on Cisco UCS Fabric Interconnects and Firepower 9300 chassis where hardware self-test results feed into overall chassis health assessment, typically after an administrator performs a CISCO-FIREPOWER-DIAG-MIB download from Cisco to compile it alongside the other CISCO-FIREPOWER-*-MIB modules.

Monitoring Examples

An administrator would poll cfprDiagBladeTestTable/cfprDiagBladeTestEntry, keyed by cfprDiagBladeTestInstanceId with distinguished name cfprDiagBladeTestDn, checking cfprDiagBladeTestType and cfprDiagBladeTestOrder to understand which self-test ran on a given blade and in what sequence. Similarly, cfprDiagNetworkTestTable/cfprDiagNetworkTestEntry lets an operator confirm network-path diagnostics executed on a fabric interconnect component. A blade repeatedly failing a specific test type (e.g. memory or network self-test) would be a strong signal of failing hardware requiring replacement.
