Description: Manages the AI198 CLC network concentrator providing port configuration and traffic statistics.

Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is AI198CLC-MIB?

AI198CLC-MIB is a proprietary MIB from Applied Innovation Incorporated for its Series 1 198 Common Logic Controller (CLC), a chassis-management module used in AI's central-office and network-concentrator equipment. The aiCLCSystem group models physical chassis configuration -- per-chassis slot-density administration objects (aiCLCBox1DensAdmin through aiCLCBox8DensAdmin, each toggling disabled/4/8/16/32-slot density for up to eight cascaded chassis) alongside aiCLCNodeName for identifying the switch in CLI prompts. It also exposes a craft/alarm-logging subsystem: aiCLCLogPortEnable and aiCLCAlmLogPort configure whether and where alarm/activity messages are printed, while aiCLCActLogLvl, aiCLCMinorAlmMin/Max, and aiCLCMajorAlmMin define the severity thresholds that classify an event as informational, minor, or major. Together these objects let an operator both provision the physical chassis topology of a multi-shelf AI Series 1 switch and tune how aggressively it reports alarms to a connected log port. It depends only on the base SNMPv2-SMI/TC conventions and registers under the aii enterprise OID (539) alongside AI's broader ai198 system-object-ID tree. It is deployed on Applied Innovation Series 1 network concentrators used for telecom central-office craft access and alarm aggregation, and administrators can download the AI198CLC-MIB file to load it into their MIB browser to map alarm severity thresholds to their NMS's own alarm classes.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in AI198CLC-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Applied Innovation Series 1 198 CLC network concentrators

Monitoring Examples

An operator polls aiCLCMinorAlmMin/Max and aiCLCMajorAlmMin to confirm the CLC's alarm severity thresholds align with the NMS's expected classification, and checks aiCLCBox1DensAdmin through aiCLCBox8DensAdmin to verify all cascaded chassis report the expected slot density; a chassis reporting disabled density when hardware is physically installed would indicate a configuration mismatch preventing that shelf's slots from being managed.

What Can Be Monitored

  • per-chassis slot density configuration (up to 8 chassis)
  • node name / chassis identification
  • alarm/activity log port enable and port number
  • activity log severity level
  • minor and major alarm severity thresholds
