What Is ALPHA-RESOURCE-MIB?

ALPHA-RESOURCE-MIB is Alpha Technologies' enterprise MIB defining common textual conventions and shared base objects used across Alpha's power system management MIB modules, for products such as DC power plants, inverters, and UPS/standby power systems used in telecom and cable environments. Rather than exposing specific runtime metrics itself, it provides the reusable data types and resource information blocks that other Alpha power-system MIBs build upon to describe controller and power resource status. Given Alpha's product focus, the underlying purpose supported by this MIB is monitoring of power system hardware health, such as battery status, rectifier/inverter state, and system controller conditions, even though the concrete objects live in companion Alpha MIBs that import these conventions. The ALPHA-RESOURCE-MIB MIB file itself defines no pollable objects, serving only as the shared type library that other Alpha power-system MIBs import. Nearly all other Alpha Technologies product MIBs depend on this resource/TC module for consistent typing of status and alarm values. It is deployed in telecom central offices, cable headends, and other facilities using Alpha Technologies DC power and backup power system controllers.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in ALPHA-RESOURCE-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • Alpha Technologies Cordex CXC HP — current digital power system controller, backward compatible with Cordex rectifiers/inverters
  • Alpha Technologies CXPS-E3 — current modular DC power system

Monitoring Examples

No sample objects were provided for this module, consistent with its role as a shared textual-conventions/base-resource definition file rather than a data-object MIB. In practice, administrators would not poll ALPHA-RESOURCE-MIB directly but would see its defined types used as the syntax for status and alarm objects in other Alpha Technologies power-system MIBs, for example an enumerated controller-status type applied to a specific power plant's monitoring table. As a foundational conventions module, it has no standalone monitoring scenario.
