What Is CISCO-DOT11-WIDS-CAPABILITY?
CISCO-DOT11-WIDS-CAPABILITY is an AGENT-CAPABILITIES conformance module describing agent support for the CISCO-DOT11-WIDS-MIB, which governs Cisco's 802.11 Wireless Intrusion Detection System. It is not itself a source of runtime data; it simply enumerates which WIDS object groups and compliance levels a particular wireless controller or access point's SNMP agent implements. Consequently it has no role in directly monitoring hardware or software status such as uptime, CPU, or wireless intrusion alerts — that function belongs to the underlying CISCO-DOT11-WIDS-MIB. Its dependency is entirely on that companion data MIB. It is consumed by SNMP management platforms during MIB loading/capability negotiation for Cisco wireless LAN infrastructure. Engineers can download the CISCO-DOT11-WIDS-CAPABILITY file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
