What Is CISCO-CVP-MIB?

CISCO-CVP-MIB manages Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal (CVP), a contact-center application that provides IVR, ASR/TTS speech-enabled self-service, and call treatment integrating TDM and IP-based call centers. The data it exposes includes general server identity and versioning, uptime-related start time and time-zone configuration, operations/support console URLs, notification enablement, and licensed real-time port capacity versus current usage. As a software-status MIB it is used to monitor whether the CVP server process is up and how long it has been running (via start time), confirm the deployed software version, and most importantly track licensed port utilization to detect when the system is approaching its call-handling capacity limit. It appears self-contained for CVP-specific reporting, though its notification framework implies alignment with standard SNMP trap conventions. It is typically deployed in enterprise and carrier contact centers running Cisco Unified Contact Center solutions to expose IVR self-service capacity and health to monitoring systems. Monitoring Examples

A monitoring system polls ccvpServerName and ccvpVersion to confirm the identity and software version of a CVP server, and reads ccvpStartTime along with ccvpTimeZoneName to compute server uptime for availability reporting. The key capacity check compares ccvpLicRtPortsInUse against ccvpLicRtPortsAvail, and a ratio approaching 100% signals the IVR platform is near its licensed real-time port ceiling and callers may soon be blocked. ccvpEnableNotifications combined with ciscoCvpMIBNotifs would then trigger a trap so operators are alerted before capacity is fully exhausted rather than discovering it from call failure reports.

How to Use in IPNetwork Monitor

Example using ccvpLicAggPortReqs OID:

Select a Cisco Unified Customer Voice Portal server as the target host to create a monitor — the SNMP service should be up and running on it. Click New Monitor, then check SNMP Custom on the Favorites tab, click Next, and confirm the host. On the next page, click Select... to open the built-in SNMP MIB Browser and type ccvpLicAggPortReqs into the Find box to locate it in the OID tree, then select it and click OK. The aggregate port requests object is an aggregate metric indicating the number of port license checkout requests made since the system was started. On the monitor's Main parameters page you can set the target's SNMP port (default 161), credentials, polling interval, and other settings — see the SNMP Monitor help for details. On the State conditions and Alerting tabs, configure when the monitor should change state and trigger an alert; since this is a Counter64-type OID, Value bounds is the most useful condition here — trigger an alert if the counter increases sharply between polls relative to its normal baseline (in requests), since an unexpected spike often reflects a real change in traffic or activity. Click Finish to create the monitor; you can adjust any parameter later.
