Since Check Point relies on UDP for things like IKE negotiation and SNMP responses, this counter's baseline rate is a useful reference; a sharp deviation can indicate a flurry of new VPN tunnel negotiations or an unusually chatty SNMP polling session rather than TCP-based management traffic. Example: udpOutDatagrams spiking in step with a batch of remote-access VPN clients reconnecting after a network blip is expected; a spike with no such event would prompt checking what's generating the UDP traffic.
