Description: The media-dependent `physical' address.
What is ipNetToMediaPhysAddress?
The media-dependent physical address in this ARP-table entry. Because this object is writable, an admin can push a static ARP entry via SNMP set to pin an IP-to-MAC mapping, a practical way to defend against ARP spoofing for a critical peer, such as a default gateway, without console access. Example: writing the known-good MAC for the upstream router into this object statically prevents an attacker's spoofed ARP reply from overwriting that entry during an active attack.
