Description: The number of ICMP Parameter Problem messages sent.
What is icmpOutParmProbs?
Counts ICMP Parameter Problem messages sent by the device in response to packets it couldn't process because of a bad header field. A rise here indicates the gateway itself is receiving malformed packets it's rejecting at the IP-header level, a lower-layer complaint than a policy rule match, worth checking for a misbehaving peer device or crafted packets. Example: icmpOutParmProbs climbing whenever a particular partner site sends traffic points to that site's router or firewall producing nonstandard IP headers this gateway won't accept.
