icmpInEchoReps
Module: CHECKPOINT-MIB-2
OID (symbolic): CHECKPOINT-MIB-2::icmpInEchoReps
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.5.9
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: Counter
Access: read-only
Description: The number of ICMP Echo Reply messages received.
What is icmpInEchoReps?
Counts ICMP Echo Reply messages received, replies to pings this device itself sent out. This is the confirmation half of the gateway's own outbound reachability checks; comparing it against how many echo requests the gateway sent via icmpOutEchos reveals what fraction of the gateway's own health-check pings to remote hosts are actually getting answered. Example: icmpOutEchos showing 100 pings sent to a monitored peer per hour but icmpInEchoReps showing only 40 replies received indicates 60% packet loss to that peer, not a total outage.
