What Is BREEZECOM-MIB?

This is a BreezeCOM (later Alvarion) private MIB for managing wireless bridge and access point radio links, covering system-level control and RF performance monitoring. It exposes a mix of configuration/command objects (system reset, reset counters, set/restore defaults) and RF performance data such as carrier sense counters and noise floor readings. This module explicitly supports monitoring hardware status: sysNoiseFloor and sysCarrierSense/sysDeltaCarrierSense reveal RF link quality and interference conditions, while sysExternalAmplifier and sysRunFromNonActiveCode indicate hardware/firmware configuration state such as whether the unit booted from a backup firmware image. As an early wireless vendor-private MIB it doesn't reference external standard MIBs directly, relying on its own "brzSys" object tree for system control. It is typically deployed in fixed-wireless/point-to-point bridge links using BreezeCOM/Alvarion radio equipment in outdoor or industrial settings. Engineers can download the BREEZECOM-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BREEZECOM-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples

An administrator monitors sysNoiseFloor and sysCarrierSense/sysDeltaCarrierSense to detect rising RF interference affecting a wireless bridge link, and checks sysRunFromNonActiveCode to confirm whether the unit is running its primary or backup firmware image after a reset. A high or rapidly increasing sysDeltaCarrierSense combined with a degraded link would point to RF interference or antenna/alignment problems, while a climbing sysTrapCounter indicates a flood of device traps needing investigation.
