Description: Registers product OIDs for Broadcom-based DOCSIS cable modem hardware variants.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is BRCM-CM-PRODUCTS-MIB?
BRCM-CM-PRODUCTS-MIB is a Broadcom proprietary registration MIB defining the OID subtree of hardware reference-design identifiers (cmReferenceDesigns) for Broadcom-chipset DOCSIS cable modems. It contains no runtime performance or configuration data; its role is purely to enumerate hardware model identifiers such as bcm93220, bcm93300, bcm93345, bcm93348, and bcm93349 that a device reports as its sysObjectID. It supports hardware status monitoring only indirectly -- by letting a management system identify which chipset/reference-design a modem uses, which in turn determines which other Broadcom or DOCSIS MIBs to query for actual uptime, software version, or signal-quality data. It has no explicit dependency beyond the general Broadcom cable-data enterprise OID conventions and is referenced by other Broadcom cable modem MIBs that assign sysObjectID values. It is deployed across the Broadcom-chipset cable modem/eMTA product family for device identification during SNMP discovery. Engineers can download the BRCM-CM-PRODUCTS-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in BRCM-CM-PRODUCTS-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Monitoring Examples
This module is a pure OID-assignment tree (cmReferenceDesigns) with leaf identifiers like bcm93220, bcm93300, bcm93345, bcm93348, and bcm93349, each representing a distinct Broadcom hardware reference design rather than a runtime data point. A management station reads a modem's sysObjectID and matches it against one of these OIDs to determine hardware model before selecting which status MIBs to poll. There are no monitorable counters within this MIB itself.
