Category: Products/Registration

Description: Defines the OID registration hierarchy for DATACOM network equipment product lines.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is DATACOM-REG?

DATACOM-REG is a private enterprise MIB that defines the OID registration hierarchy for DATACOM Products, a manufacturer of telecom access and transmission equipment, without itself exposing runtime management objects. Its purpose is purely structural: it assigns sub-identifiers under the DATACOM enterprise arc for specific product lines and management cards, such as the DMG20 modem management card and various E1/DM70x management cards. As a registration module it does not expose interface, environmental, performance, or fault data, and it has no role in monitoring hardware or software status directly. It has no functional dependency on other standard MIBs beyond the standard SNMPv2-SMI enterprise numbering conventions used to define OID arcs. It is deployed alongside DATACOM's product-specific management MIBs, serving as the OID root that those MIBs reference. Engineers can download the DATACOM-REG file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in DATACOM-REG. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • DATACOM Products access/transmission equipment

Monitoring Examples

This is a registration/conformance-style module defining OID arcs like datacomModemManagCardDMG20, datacomDm705ManagCard, and datacomDm16E1ManagCard rather than runtime data objects, so there is no realistic monitoring scenario to describe; it simply anchors OIDs used by other DATACOM device MIBs.
